Screamo? Really?

While filing last months email messages I came across the below exchange, in which I first learned of the existence of the ‘screamo’ genre… rereading the chain made me smile and got me thinking that I should really get your opinion on subgenres in music today. Two years ago, when applying to become an agent […]

Shakespeare-Punk

A musical culture began to take shape amid the unrest of Great Britain during the mid-1970’s, spreading like wildfire in a drought. With the emergence of bands like the Sex Pistols and the Clash, the punk rock movement sparked a nihilistic ethos and a new sound that would change the imperialist island’s musical landscape forever. […]

Not A Paperweight

During my formative through coming of age years my little universe was always and only as limited as the variety of my personal music library. This insight was first observed and expressed to me with positive reinforcement by my younger brother via one of his 2nd grade art class projects when i was in the 6th grade. One day he came home and set what looked like an interesting steampunk-ish paperweight on my desk in front of me while i was drawing and listening to some probably collectible vinyl of my parents.

lovestrong: a lesson to learn from the real deal.

Maybe it’s my female weakness* with math + spatial relationships, but i always thought size was in the eye of the beholder and that it’s not the size of the sale that matters, but how you use it… REAL TALK: If your anthrophile affliction is […]
