Today ECC released their just-completed fan photo video for a cover of beloved Pixies anthem “Where Is My Mind.” Yep, Your Pics + Our Cover = Great Video. Please watch and share with your friends. I love everything about this video, and not just because Pixies or the song choice or the fact that i spot at least 4 pix sent in by YGIM & friends or any of that. It’s not even because it’s a perfect demonstration of what YGIM is always harping on about: engagement and collaboration between content creators and their community always produces something greater than the sum of the contributors parts, and builds lasting relationships and success. I love it cuz its awesome, plain and simple, everything else is just a bonus.

By all accounts, ECC‘s been having a blast on the road with recent indie darlings Neon Trees. Sadly, they play only a couple more shows together this summer, so get thee to the Windy City or OC fair ASAP if you want to catch this dynamic duo. On the bright side, they just added a bunch of new headline gigs to their upcoming dates:

6/8  Chicago, IL @ House Of Blues w/ Neon Trees
6/11 New York, NY @ Piano’s

6/12 Boston @ TT The Bears
6/13 Brooklyn @ The Rock Shop

6/14 Rochester, NY @ Bug Jar
6/17 Toronto, ON NXNE Showcase

6/18 Toronto, ON NXNE Showcase
6/20 Philadelphia, PA @ Johnny Brenda’s

6/22 Charlotte, NC @ Snug Harbor
6/23 Atlanta, GA @ Purgatory

6/25 Houston, TX @ Mango’s
6/26 Austin, TX @ Emo’s
6/28 Phoenix, AZ @ Rhythm Room
7/7  Los Angeles, CA @ Hammer Museum
7/16 Costa Mesa @ OC Fair w/ Neon Trees

PS: If you aren’t already familiar with Eastern Conference Champions, they are solid indie noise from the east coast, now based out of Los Angeles. Thus far my pleas for them to acknowledge their new hometown by rebranding under the name ‘Western Conference Champions’ have fallen on deaf ears but that doesn’t change the fact that they are solid sonic fun. More than most, ECC knows who they are, what they want to do as a band and the all-important why which makes for a creative clarity you can hear in every musical choice. You can, and should, surf their sound over youtube or facebook.
